Mark Charlton - ITOSA Competitor 1999

I won a Silver Medal at the WordSkills Competition in Montreal in 1999. The experience and training involved has given me the confidence and ability to follow my dreams and aspirations.
In 2000 I spent a year working near Boston, Massachussets in the US as a web developer and project consultant. This allowed me to travel all over the US working on varied projects and developments.
In 2002 I graduated with First Class honours in Business Computing from the University of Sunderland and I now run my own company Webtree Authoring. Webtree Authoring is a Business Consulting company specialising in bespoke software development and project management.
Webtree Authoring works with companies of all sizes from self employed individuals, small and medium enterprises (SME's), up to councils, the NHS and multinational corporations.
As a proud member of the Worldskills UK Alumni, (an exclusive group of previous World Skills Competitors), I get the opportunity to attend speaking events around the country promoting UK SKills and the World Skills event. One notable event was speaking at the Houses of Parliament alongside John Denham, Secretary of State for Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
